Dear Theodore Roosevelt School Families,
Many of you may feel uncertain due to recent federal audits, layoffs, and department closures. We have been working closely with the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), White Mountain Apache Tribe (WMAT), and the TRS Governing Board to stay informed and ensure the best for our school community.
We are pleased to share that TRS is financially stable. Based on our current standing, we will recommend to the Governing Board that faculty and staff contracts for the 2025-2026 school year be renewed. Our top priority is our commitment to providing a strong and supportive learning environment.
Due to school closures caused by severe weather, heating issues, and infrastructure repairs, the BIE has informed us that we must make up lost instructional time. After final calculations, TRS will return to a five-day school week starting Friday, March 7, 2025. This will be a full school day, and we have adjusted transportation, food service, and residential programs to support this change.
We are also in the process of developing the 2025-2026 school calendar and value your input. If you have any ideas or suggestions, we encourage you to share them with us.
Lastly, we know that families have choices regarding their children’s education. We are truly grateful that you have chosen Theodore Roosevelt School. Your trust, support, and commitment to our school mean everything. Together, we will continue to build a stronger, brighter future for our students.
Thank you for your generosity, compassion, and dedication to our school.
