Dear Parents, Guardians, and Families,
I am writing to share an important update regarding the Theodore Roosevelt School Governing Board. On September 16, 2025, the White Mountain Apache Tribe appointed a new Governing Board to continue guiding our school forward. This transition is an important step in strengthening our school’s governance, ensuring accountability, and aligning with the needs of our students, families, and community.
We are pleased to warmly welcome our newly appointed Governing Board Members:
- Wayne Ivins
- Jerold Altaha
- Brenda Pusher-Begay
- Alicia Begolin
- Cline Griggs
We also extend heartfelt thanks to the outgoing board members — Lorene Billy, Regina Yazzie, Amy George, Alyandra Dalton, Alvena Bush, and Cheyanne Burnette — for their service and dedication to Theodore Roosevelt School. Their commitment has provided stability and guidance, and we are grateful for their contributions to our students, staff, and community.
Our new board members bring commitment, experience, and a shared dedication to the success of our students. In the coming weeks, the board will participate in an official swearing-in ceremony, receive orientation and training, and begin working closely with school leadership to carry out their responsibilities. They will also review our adopted 2025–2026 school budget, our continuous school improvement plan, and participate in a retreat to build strong relationships and focus on the important work ahead.
We want to assure you that our primary focus remains on providing the very best education and support for your children. The transition in board leadership will not interrupt the learning environment, programs, or services your students receive. Instead, it strengthens our ability to move forward with renewed focus and unity.
We are grateful for your trust and continued partnership in helping Theodore Roosevelt School thrive. Please join me in welcoming our new Governing Board members and extending gratitude to our outgoing board members for their service.
With respect and appreciation,
Dr. Leon Ben
